What every brave woman wants – How to successfully achieve your dream lifestyle and body image?

by MamaVita June 22, 2022

We all have a health dream that we would like to come true – successfully achieve our dream lifestyle and body image.

Every woman has a health and body image role model – someone they want to be and look like.
When I ask my personal training clients what they want to achieve, they often say: I want to look like you!

“Pause right there and let’s take this right back”, I would say.
“I didn’t ask you about Your Vision OF You.
I am asking what is Your Vision FOR You”.

If you aim to get as close to looking like someone else, you are setting yourself up to fail.
If you aim to create the best version OF YOU, you are on a mission to achieve it.

Basically, many women have a clarity of an image that is totally irrelevant and unauthentic to them and very often unachievable. Having this image in your head is a great start, but it doesn’t bring you any closer to your goal – Your Vision FOR You of a dream image of you – simply because you are carrying an image of someone else in your head.

Where to from here?
I encourage my health coaching clients to focus on these things:
– creating an image of their dream themselves WITHOUT having any distracting images of others
– having conversations with themselves about themselves WITHOUT having conversations with themselves about others
AND
– learning how to FEEL health instead of seeing it as an image – especially an image of someone else.

With that said, what does health feel like to you?

Why can’t I find the motivation to be healthy?

by MamaVita May 31, 2022

How often do you set a goal and spend time and energy on it, but then your motivation goes, and you never actually achieve it? And then it happens again and again … Sounds familiar?
The good news is that you aren’t the only one – only up to 10% of people actually achieve their goals.
The bad news is that it reduces your future motivation further.

I will share with you three tips that I have been using with my clients for over 15 years to help them achieve their health goals. In particular, I used these tips with my lovely female clients who wanted to tone up and lose weight very often, repeatedly and unsuccessfully.

  • Spend your energy on improving your motivation, not the goal itself
We tend to put all our physical and mental energy into achieving the goal. If you didn’t truly want to achieve your goal, you would not set it in the first place. However, we spend very little energy on boosting and maintaining our motivation.
TIP: set your goal as you need a direction to follow but then direct your attention to finding ways to motivate yourself instead.
  • Create a supportive environment for your goals
Okay, I know what you are saying: I always prepare my workout clothes ahead of time. I plan to go to the gym and buy fresh fruits and vegetables. BUT. I never actually do much more about achieving my health goals. What you are doing is creating a supportive PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT. What you need to do as well is create a supportive MENTAL/SPIRITUAL ENVIRONMENT.
TIP: Again, instead of spending energy on the goal itself, focus on finding ways to create a peaceful mind-frame that will provide you with energy and space for your health goal (check out my FREE facebook group). Regardless of how much you want to achieve your goal, if you are stressed, anxious, overwhelmed or in general in a negative mind frame, achieving your goal will be effortful, and your chances of achieving it are very slim.
  • Visualise your goal as if you have already achieved it
Many people find this step hard to do simply because we lack trust in ourselves – possibly due to past failures. You may find it hard to see yourself at the end of this journey if you have self-doubt. However, even if you don’t believe in yourself, the truth is that while you have not (yet) achieved your goal, you have already ENGAGED in the PROCESS of achieving it, and that is 100% true – and you can genuinely believe that.
TIP: Visualise yourself DOING, SAYING and SEEING things that will happen once you achieve your goal.

Over the past fifteen years, I have helped hundreds of women to achieve their goals. You aren’t an exemption – you can achieve your goals too.

If you have not achieved your goal yet, it doesn’t mean you won’t achieve it in the future.
If you have not achieved your goal yet, it doesn’t mean you haven’t engaged in the process of achieving it yet – you are already on your way!
If you have not achieved your goal yet, you are not a failure – you just need to change your ways.

I love hearing back from my clients, so please comment below on how this blog helped you with your health goals.

xoxo Ali

How to maintain a healthy lifestyle in motherhood?

by MamaVita September 14, 2021

Stop feeling like you aren’t enough and incapable of being healthy and active again.

What mum doesn’t find achieving and maintaining a healthy lifestyle in motherhood challenging.

Do you feel that:

  • Finding time to give to yourself (while giving so much to the others around you) seems almost impossible.
  • Having accountability for yourself and your needs in motherhood is exhausting (while being accountable for the well-being of the others around you)?

Use this five-step guide to create meaningful and sustainable health and well-being change in your life.

  1. Start from scratch. Your PAST POSSIBLITIES aren’t your CURRENT OPTIONS. Create new healthy routines that are ACHIEVABLE and AUTHENTIC to your current situation – MOTHERHOOD.

2. Set achievable goals that are SIMPLE, SHORT-TERM and SELF-MADE. COMPLEX and LONG-TERM goals that require HELP from OTHERS are NOT achievable in MOTHERHOOD (at least not at the start of this journey).

3. Be persistent, but stay flexible. Stick to WHAT you do (in your health ROUTINE), but change HOW you do/achieve it. Continue with your routine but change the variables as needed (when you do it? How long for? Where? Etc.

4. Build internal support (stop relying on and evaluating your external support). If you don’t have time for health, YOU CREATE it yourself. If you don’t have support in your family, YOU SUPPORT yourself. Your SUCCESS of having a healthy lifestyle depends on the INTERNAL support that comes from WITHIN, not from others.

5. Constantly reevaluate your new routine – identify what’s not working, what’s working well and what could work better. Evaluation helps you make your health routine SUSTAINABLE and EFFORT-LESS!

Remember, having an accountability buddy increases your chances of achieving your goals to 6 in 10 – and it goes up to 9 in 10 if you have a regular meeting with your buddy.

If you don’t know where to start, why don’t you join my FREE Facebook Group, The Healthy Mummy Accountability Support Tribe, where you learn lots of strategies and tools to increase your accountability. You will also have an opportunity to find an accountability buddy in my program.

Are you ready for some awesomeness?

xoxo Ali
